Tom Reid, LEED A.P.,
President
 
Tom Reid joined Colombo Construction as a carpenter in 1979.  He was promoted to Project Superintendent and then to Project Manager.  Tom currently serves as the Company’s President. 
 
In 1998 he received a law degree and is a member of the California State Bar Association. Tom’s legal education has been beneficial in helping many of our clients negotiate the increasing number of laws and regulations governing all construction projects.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Joe Colombo
Vice President of Sales
 
Joe Colombo is no stranger to construction. His father, Joe Colombo Sr. founded Colombo Construction Co., Inc. in 1948.  Joining Colombo Construction in 1977, Joe has gained diversity of experience ranging from laborer, Project Superintendent, Project Manager and Principal-In-Charge. His experience working with various design teams gives projects the benefit of the most efficient mechanical and electrical systems available.  In addition, his knowledge of materials and systems costs brings added value to the design and construction process.
 
Joe serves on the Board for Golden Empire Gleaners and Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra.  He is a Fundraiser Co-Chair for the Kern Veteran's Memorial Foundation.  In addition, he serves as a member on the CSUB Executive Advisory Council and CSUB Council 100.
 
 
 
 
 
 Christine Hettinger
 Controller / Office Administrator

Christine Hettinger joined the Colombo Construction Management Team as Controller / Office Administrator in March of 2015.  She brings to Colombo over 30 years of accounting and finance experience working predominately in the Construction Industry.  For nine years, she worked in public accounting for the firm of Williams Duffield & Company where she was responsible for job costing the firm’s construction clients.   Over the last several years, Christine served as the Controller for Burtch Construction, Electrical Instrumentation Unlimited of California, and Hillcrest Sheet Metal, where she was responsible for the day-to-day operations and matters relating to budget, cost, analysis and forecasting.

 

 
 
 
Leonard Zasoski, Jr. 
Vice President of Construction Operations
 
Leonard Zasoski joined Colombo Construction in 1979.  Leonard has worked in several leadership capacities as Carpenter Foreman and Project Superintendent.  In 2000, based on his leadership skills, attention to detail and client relations, he was promoted to General Superintendent overseeing all field operations.  In April 2010, Leonard was promoted as Colombo's Director of Design-Build Services heading our Pre-Engineered Metal Division Department. In May 2012, Leonard was promoted as Colombo's Vice President of Construction Operations. Leonard was instrumental in facilitating the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARPs).  Colombo Construction is the only commercial recipient in the San Joaquin Valley to receive this prestigious award from the State of California Division of Occupational Safety and Health.  He will continue his role as Director of Safety. Leonard is a member of the Italian Catholic Federation Branch 281 at our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and currently
serves as Grand President at the national level, as well as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Oildale, and Knights of Columbus #13299, OLPH.  Member of the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, Cancer Survivorship Advisory Council. American Cancer Society 2015, Hero of Hope Speaker.
 
 
Ryan Altergott
Executive Management Team Secretary/Treasurer
 
Ryan Altergott has been with Colombo Construction Co., Inc. for 19 years.  In 1996 he worked as a laborer assisting on various construction projects including site clean-up, light carpentry, finish carpentry and placed concrete.  In 2005, Ryan was promoted to Project Engineer where he assisted the Project Team in Schedule Management processes throughout a construction project.  In addition, he provided photographic history and reports of construction projects for Colombo.  His hands-on experience and duties as a Project Engineer provided him the necessary skills and knowledge to promote positive contributions; and in 2006 Ryan was promoted to the role of an Estimator.
Ryan serves as a vital team member in providing constructability review and supports the bidding processes.  He is involved in providing many budgets on various types of construction projects such as schools, universities, City and Public Works, hospitals, healthcare, agricultural, commercial and industrial.  He also serves on Colombo Construction’s Executive Management Team as the company’s Secretary / Treasurer.  Ryan graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance.
